ABSTRACT:
A stack-type piezoelectric device is provided in a configuration wherein an inactive layer is placed between an active layer with internal electrodes therein and a piezoelectric layer with terminal electrodes therein, and wherein the internal electrodes and the terminal electrodes can be securely electrically connected through through holes (THs) formed in the inactive layer. In a stack-type piezoelectric device1, an inactive layer14placed between an active layer6with anodic electrodes2and cathodic electrodes4as internal electrodes and a piezoelectric layer9with terminal electrodes7, 8is comprised of a stack of a plurality of piezoelectric layers13in each of which THs11, 12are formed. This permits each piezoelectric layer13to be formed in such a thickness that an electroconductive member23can be securely placed in each TH11, 12, and the inactive layer14can be constructed of a stack of a plurality of such piezoelectric layers13. In this configuration, the electroconductive members23can be securely placed in THs11, 12, and it is thus feasible to securely electrically connect the anodic electrodes2to the terminal electrode7and the cathodic electrodes4to the terminal electrode8.
