Reaction products prepared by processes which comprise reacting:A) at least one compound having the general formula I:in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?R1(X)3  (I)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?wherein each X group independently represents a halogen atom or one X group represents a halogen atom and two X groups represent an epoxy oxygen atom, which is attached to two adjacent carbon atoms in the R1group to form an epoxy group, and R1is an alkanetriyl group having from 3 to 10 carbon atoms; andB) at least one compound having the general formula IIin-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?R2X(AO)nY  (II)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?wherein R2represents a polyfluorinated organic group having from 1 to 36 carbon atoms and at least two fluorine atoms; X represents —O—, —S—, or NR3— where R3is hydrogen or a C1–C18alkyl group; each AO group is independently an ethyleneoxy, 1,2-propyleneoxy, or 1,2-butyleneoxy group, n is a number of from 0 to 200; and Y represents hydrogen, a mercapto group, an amino group or a C1–C6alkylamino group in place of a terminal —OH group, with the proviso that when Y is a mercapto, amino, or a C1–C6alkylamino group, n is at least 1; are described.
