Colloidal dispersions in non-aqueous media are sterically stabilized in a solvent medium by a copolymer of
1. a chain-like terminally monoethylenically unsaturated macromonomer which is soluble in the solvent and has a molecular weight of at least 500, and
2. an anchor component comprising a polymerizable material consisting of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer,
