ABSTRACT:
By using a plastic substrate as a substrate, a lighter weight, improved shock resistance, and a lower cost are realized, while preventing deterioration of quality of the display image due to expansion and contraction of the substrate. A liquid crystal display apparatus (LCD) is provided with reflective electrodes13formed on a plastic substrate2, color filter layers14formed on the reflective electrodes13, a transparent conductive films15electrically connected with the reflective electrodes13in an area around the color filter layer14. In the LCD, a distance between an edge of each reflective electrode13and an edge of the color filter layer14associated therewith is set based on an amount of expansion and contraction of the substrate2, which are caused in a step of forming the color filter layers14and an amount of expansion and contraction of the substrate2, which are caused in a step of forming the transparent conductive electrodes15.
