ABSTRACT:
A surface-mount type light emitting diode, comprising, a substrate, cathode and anode electrode patterns provided on the substrate, a light emitting diode element provided on the substrate to electrically connect with the cathode and anode electrode patterns, a light permeable member disposed to encapsulate the light emitting diode element, and a total-reflection-surface-formed part provided peripherally of the light emitting diode element within the light permeable member and including a groove and gas or filling member filled in the groove to reflect the emitted light from the light emitting diode element efficiently and upwardly.
