The driving device has a piezoelectric element32,a supporting member16fixed to one end of the piezoelectric element32,a driving shaft18fixed to the other end of the piezoelectric element32,a movable member20that is movably held on the driving member18,and a driving circuit33that applies the drive voltage to the piezoelectric element32.The driving circuit33includes a self-oscillating circuit34, 38that oscillates at a series resonance frequency of the piezoelectric element32and a non-linear circuit36, 40, 42, 44, 46for adding distortion to the drive voltage that is applied to the piezoelectric element32.
