ABSTRACT:
In an image communication apparatus capable of communicating color information, a receiver notifies a transmitter of information indicating that full-color data is receivable or unreceivable, information indicating that JPEG data is receivable or unreceivable, and information indicating that color data of a specific size is receivable or unreceivable. When the size of a document to be transmitted by the transmitter is B4size or A3size, and if the receiver has the capability to receive color information of B4or A3size, the transmitter transmits the document information in a color mode with the same magnification. If the receiver does not have the capability to receive color information of B4or A3size but has the capability to receive color information of A4size, the transmitter transmits the image to be transmitted with the size reduced to A4size.
