ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to a coloured soda-lime glass of blue hue, containing more than2wt. % of MgO, more than1.1wt. % of Fe2O3, less than0.53wt. % of FeO and less than0.13wt. % of MnO2, and presenting under Illuminant A and for a glass thickness of4mm, a transmission factor (TLA4) higher than15%, a selectivity (SE4) higher than1.2and a dominant wavelength (λD) and a purity of excitation (P) such that they are located in the CIE chromaticity co-ordinate diagram inside a triangle whereof the apices are defined by the point representing the illuminant source C and the points whereof the co-ordinates (λD, P) are (490,19) and (476,49) respectively. Said glass is particularly suitable for motor vehicle side windows, rear windows and sun roof.
