ABSTRACT:
An outside handle assembly for an automobile is constructed to have a handle body3connected to a handle base2secured to an automobile panel1, and a connecting lever7swingably connected to the handle body3and driven vertically by an operating force applied to the handle body3so that an engaging portion4formed toward its lower end may push an unlocking lever6in a locking device5to release the locking device5from its locking state. The engaging portion4is formed to be disengageable from the unlocking lever6upon swinging of the connecting lever7toward the center of the automobile body. The handle base2is provided with a panel deformation detector8protruding toward the connecting lever7. The connecting lever7being urged toward the panel1by urging member9.
