ABSTRACT:
A gas generator10for an inflatable occupant restraint system is provided. The gas generator10includes a projectile firing barrel20having a touch hole26on a side thereof for ignition of a propellant24within the barrel20. Ignition of the propellant24drives a projectile50through the barrel20and into a rupturable seal36on a stored gas canister32. After rupturing the seal36, the projectile50is positively retained between a base end21of the barrel20and the gas canister32.
