ABSTRACT:
At V-shaped grooves112aand112bon a substrate110,an optical fiber150and lens elements130aand130beach having a fitting portion with an external diameter substantially equal to the external diameter of the optical fiber150are positioned and mounted. A wavelength branching filter140is disposed in a concave groove114formed on the substrate110,and a PD160is set at the upper surface of the wavelength branching filter140.An LD120and the optical fiber150are optically coupled via the lens elements130aand130b.Light with wavelength lambda1emitted from the LD120is transmitted through the wavelength branching filter140and enters the optical fiber150.Light with wavelength lambda2emitted from the optical fiber150is deflected at the wavelength branching filter140and enters the PD160.
