ABSTRACT:
An inkjet printhead comprising a plurality of printhead integrated circuits is provided. Each integrated circuit comprises a substrate; drive circuitry arranged on the substrate; and a plurality of micro-electromechanical devices positioned on the substrate. Each device comprises an actuator connected to the drive circuitry, the actuator including a free end reciprocally displaceable along a path relative to the substrate, and an arm that is expandable when heated by an electrical current received from the drive circuitry. The expansion causes displacement of the free end along said path.
