ABSTRACT:
A scanning optical system condensing a light flux deflected by an optical deflector so as to form an optical spot on a surface to be scanned, includes a unitary lens, wherein: a lens configuration in a main scanning cross section is both surfaces with a convex configuration; a lens configuration in a sub-scanning cross section is both surfaces with a convex configuration; both surfaces of the lens are anamorphic surfaces; and a lateral magnification β2in a sub-scanning direction of a central image height of said optical system satisfies the following condition (1):in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?0.5≦|β2|≦3.0. (1)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?
