ABSTRACT:
An image forming apparatus includes an intermediate transfer member having at least one short surface and two elongated surfaces and held so as to be substantially a flat shape, and an intermediate transfer member cleaner provided on the short surface of the intermediate transfer member for removing toner attached to the surface of the intermediate transfer member. The intermedaite transfer member cleaner includes a scraper provided on the upstream side of the intermediate transfer member in the direction of rotation and a brash roller86provided on the downstream side in the direction of rotation.
