ABSTRACT:
A process for the antimicrobial treatment of fiber materials, comprising applying to the fiber material an inclusion complex of a fiber-reactive cyclodextrin derivative with an antimicrobial agent selected from the group consisting of (a) halogeno-o-hydroxydiphenyl compounds or non-halogenated hydroxydiphenyl ether compounds; (b) phenol derivatives; (c) benzyl alcohols; (d) chlorohexidine and derivatives thereof; (e) C12-14alkybetaines and C8–C18fatty acid amidoaklylbetaines; (f) amphoteric surfactants; (g) trihalocarbanilides; (h) quaternary and polyquaternary compounds; and (i) thiazole compounds.
