The invention providesStaphylococcus aureusmethionyl tRNA synthetase polypeptides and DNA (RNA) encodingStaphylococcus aureusmethionyl tRNA synthetase polypeptides and methods for producing such poypeptides by recombinant techniques. Also provided are methods for utilizingStaphylococcus aureusmethionyl tRNA synthetase polypeptides for the protection against infection, particularly bacterial infections.
