ABSTRACT:
A circuit size of a multiplexing apparatus is reduced. In terminal interface units21ato23a, data from a terminal is received by each of terminal-side line interface sub-unit211, and then celluralized by a cell assembly/disassembly sub-unit28a. The cell is transmitted directly to a priority control unit242a. In the priority control unit242a, the cell received from each of the terminal interface units21ato23ais stored in each of priority control buffers243a, and then sent to an ATM network interface unit24ain the order of priorities sequentially. The cell is synchronized with a line of an ATM network1aby a network synchronizing sub-unit241a, and transmitted to the line of the ATM network1a. With this constitution, an internal bus is unnecessary.
