ABSTRACT:
A scroll type compressor includes a housing, a fixed scroll member and a movable scroll member. An elastic member is formed in an annular and planar shape and is fixed in the housing on a side of a back surface of the movable base plate so as to slidably contact the back surface of the movable base plate of the movable scroll member at a sliding region of the elastic member. A facing wall is provided on a side opposite to a side of the movable scroll member with respect to the elastic member. A first space is formed between the elastic member and the facing wall for allowing the elastic member to be elastically deformed. The elastic member is elastically deformed toward the facing wall by pressure-contacting the movable scroll member, whereby the movable scroll member is urged toward the fixed scroll member.
