ABSTRACT:
This invention provides a novel hydroformylation catalyst which is a ligand stabilized complex of platinum dihalide dimer and stannous halide.
A preferred species of the invention hydroformylation catalyst can be represented by a formula corresponding to the chemical structure: ##STR1## wherein R is an organic radical such as alkyl or aryl, and X is a halogen radical.
