ABSTRACT:
Disclosed herein is a method of manufacturing a magnetic material which can provide a bonded magnet having excellent magnetic properties and having excellent reliability. A melt spinning apparatus1is provided with a tube2having a nozzle3at the bottom thereof, a coil4for heating the tube and a cooling roll5having a circumferential surface53in which gas expelling grooves54are formed. A melt spun ribbon8is formed by injecting the molten alloy6from the nozzle6so as to be collided with the circumferential surface53of the cooling roll5, so that the molten alloy6is cooled and then solidified. In this process, gas is likely to enter between a puddle7of the molten alloy6and the circumferential surface53, but such gas is expelled by means of the gas expelling grooves54.
