ABSTRACT:
Selector circuits are connected in a hierarchical arrangement. Each of the selector receives two of synchronizing pattern detection signals and two of synchronizing pattern position signals and selects one of the received synchronizing pattern position signals in accordance with values of the received synchronizing pattern detection signals, so that the position of a synchronizing pattern on parallel data can be identified in a tournament fashion.
