ABSTRACT:
A Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system50is provided including a superconducting magnet coil assembly54. The magnet coil assembly54includes a superconducting magnet82and forms an imaging volume60. The superconducting magnet82generates a polarizing field in the imaging volume60. A readout magnet106generates a readout field in the imaging volume60. A controller102is electrically coupled to the readout magnet106and pulses the readout magnet106to generate a uniform magnetic field through the imaging volume60. A method for performing the same is also provided.
