ABSTRACT:
Apparatus10discloses a venting apparatus for a toilet bowl12using a gasket18that is positioned between a toilet seat14and toilet bowl rim16forming a gasket-like seal therebetween. The toilet bowl gasket18is comprised of a pliable oval-like housing having an interior cavity20therein. Located remotely to the venting apparatus is a motorized exhaust fan22connected to conduit24extending between the toilet seat venting apparatus and discharge vent26. The exterior walls have a plurality of apertures28, 30therein serving to draw air from the toilet bowl12and exterior ambient air through the cavity20to an aperture having an exteriorly extending nipple32with the aforementioned conduit attached thereto whereby activating the pump22causes air to be drawn into the cavity20and discharged at the point of discharge26. The exterior ambient air apertures28and the toilet bowl interior apertures30vary in diameter whereby a larger interior aperture results in a low pressure gradient38existing within the bowl interior and a high pressure gradient40on the exterior side thereby insuring that the majority of air is drawn from the toilet bowl. A shield42is formed over each of the apertures28, 30to prevent errant urination from passing into the cavity20.
