ABSTRACT:
A method for fabricating an elongated integral type magnetic head comprises the steps of forming a plurality of elongated integral magnetic head bodies on a separation layer formed on a substrate such that the integral magnetic head bodies are formed as a first block and a second block each having a comb-shape and including a connection part that carries thereon a plurality of the magnetic head bodies extending parallel to each other such that the magnetic head bodies held on the comb-shaped first block and the magnetic head bodies held on the comb-shaped second block mesh with each other, and separating the first block and said second block from each other by applying a selective removal process for removing a strip-like boundary region formed to surround each of the first and second blocks by an etching process.
