This invention relates to a method for manufacturing aromatic compounds having the following formula (II) comprising the step of reacting an unsaturated aromatic compound having the following formula (I) with an aryl compound containing an iodosyl group or the salt thereof within a temperature range of from -50.degree. to 200.degree.
