A printhead for a drop on demand inkjet printer that has an array of nozzle assemblies10formed on a substrate16in a series of adjacent rows. Each nozzle has a nozzle opening24in communication with a nozzle chamber34. The nozzle22is displaceable toward the substrate16for effecting ink ejection from the nozzle chamber34through the nozzle opening24on demand.
