A zoom lens includes a negative first lens group, a positive second lens group, a negative third lens group and a positive fourth lens group, arranged in this order from an object side. The first lens group has a negative first lens element and a positive second element, arranged in this order from the object side, at least one surface of the two lens elements of the first lens group being a hybrid aspherical lens formed from a glass lens and a resin film layer.
