ABSTRACT:
A process for producing an optically active compound represented by formula (4) or a salt thereof:the process including reacting a cyclization reagent with an optically active compound represented by formula (3) or its salt:optionally in the presence of a Lewis acid, to form the compound of formula (4) or its salt, wherein, in the compounds of formula (3) and formula (4) and their salts, R1is a protecting group, and wherein the cyclization reagent is prepared from a titanium (IV) reagent and an alkylmetal compound.
