ABSTRACT:
An inkjet printhead for ejecting drops of a printing fluid onto a media substrate. The inkjet printhead has an array of nozzle apertures defined in a nozzle layer less than 10 microns thick and a heater element adjacent each of the nozzles respectively for heating printing fluid to form a vapor bubble that ejects a drop of the printing fluid through the nozzle aperture corresponding to that heater element. The heater element is a layer of resistive material extending parallel to the nozzle layer and spaced less than 50 microns from the nozzle layer.
