ABSTRACT:
A device is provided for counting and sorting coins of various sizes. The coins are supplied from a container for unsorted coins to a guide channel adjacent thereto for guiding the coins individually and successively. The guide channel has a continouus reference edge and a base provided with openings which correspond in size to the sizes of the types of coin. A counter detects coins in the guide channel without contact. Spring loaded levers and/or conveyor belts or the like are provided for mechanically urging the coins against the reference edge.
