ABSTRACT:

The invention relates to a recording and/or reproducing device, into which a cassette can be loaded, which cassette comprises a housing and a rotationally drivable supply reel accommodated in the housing and a record carrier in the form of a tape wound onto the reel hub of the supply reel and a coupling element connected to the record carrier in the area of the free end of the record carrier and held in a coupling position, and can be brought into an operating position in the recording and/or reproducing device, and which comprises a chassis for carrying component parts, and which comprises a rotationally drivable take-up reel having a reel hub and which comprises a pull-out element constructed to be coupled to the coupling element and which, together with the coupling element coupled to it, forms a pull-out assembly, and which comprises actuating means which are connected to the pull-out element and by which the pull-out assembly can be moved away from the cassette, which is in its operating position, and up to the reel hub of the take-up reel, in order to bring into engagement with one another, on the one hand, the reel hub and, on the other hand, the pull-out assembly comprising the pull-out element and the coupling element coupled thereto, and which in an area of a tape transport path comprises at least one tape guide element for guiding the record carrier and recording and/or reproducing means for scanning the record carrier, and which has first guide means connected to the chassis and second guide means cooperating with the first guide means, by which guide means the pull-out element and the coupling element coupled thereto, when these two elements are jointly moved, can be guided past the at least one tape guide element and past the recording and/or reproducing means without contact with the same.
Such a recording and/or reproducing device of the type defined in the opening paragraph is known, for example from the patent document EP 0 467 143 B1. In the known recording and/or reproducing device the record carrier tape is formed by a magnetic tape and the second guide means are arranged on the pull-out element, no constructional details of the second guide means being given in said patent document EP 0 467 143 B1. The pull-out element is then carried by a lever arm which forms part of a lever mechanism which in the known recording and/or reproducing device has been provided as actuating means for jointly moving the pull-out element and the coupling element coupled thereto away from the cassette, which is in its operating position, up to the reel hub of the take-up reel. As a result of this construction the pull-out element is carried by a lever of the actuating means and is guided by second guide means provided on the pull-out element and by the first guide means constituted by a guideway formed in a chassis plate. However, in the known recording and/or reproducing device the coupling element is guided only indirectly during the joint movement of the pull-out element and the coupling element coupled thereto, which is effected in that the coupling element is coupled to the directly guided pull-out element and in that the magnetic tape connected to the coupling element exerts a tractive force on the coupling element. This construction poses a problem in respect of a high reliability, which is very important in such recording and/or reproducing devices and which should the before meet very stringent requirements, because such a high reliability cannot be guaranteed to a satisfactory extent for the joint movement of the pull-out element and the coupling element coupled thereto without the at least one tape guide element and a magnetic head provided as recording and/or reproducing means being touched. Particularly an undesired touching or contact with the magnetic head, particularly the so-called head face of the magnetic head, must be avoided in any case.
It is an object of the invention to solve the aforementioned problems in a recording and/or reproducing device of the type defined in the opening paragraph in a simple manner and by simple means and to provide and improved recording and/or reproducing device which guarantees a high reliability and a trouble-free operation in view of a correct movement of the pull-out element together with the coupling element coupled thereto between the position in the area of a cassette and the position in the area of the reel hub of the take-up reel without coming into contact with a tape guide element and recording and/or reproducing means.
According to the invention, in order to achieve the aforesaid object in a recording and/or reproducing device of the type defined in the opening paragraph, the second guide means have been provided on the coupling element and during a joint movement of the pull-out element and of the coupling element coupled thereto the coupling element can be guided directly and the pull-out element can be guided indirectly with the aid of the first guide means and the second guide means.
By taking the measures in accordance with the invention it is achieved in a simple manner and by only simple means that during the joint movement of the pull-out element and the coupling element coupled thereto both parts are guided properly and reliably, because the coupling element is guided directly with the aid of the first guide means and the second guide means and because, owing to its coupling to the coupling element, the pull-out element is guided indirectly with the aid of the first guide means and the second guide means and, in addition, is also guided by the actuating means connected to the pull-out element, as a result of which the pull-out element, which basically does not require any separate guide means, is also guided in a satisfactory manner.
In a recording and/or reproducing device in accordance with the invention it has proved to be quite advantageous if the pull-out element has third guide means which cooperate with the first guide means just like the second guide means of the coupling element. This ensures that both the coupling element and the pull-out element are guided in a particularly favorable manner.
In a recording and/or reproducing device in accordance with the invention it has proved to be very advantageous if the coupling element is formed by a coupling pin and the two free end portions of the coupling pin are then used for guiding purposes.
The above-mentioned as well as further aspects of the invention will become apparent from the embodiments described hereinafter by way of example and will be elucidated with reference to these examples.
