ABSTRACT:
4-AMINO-2,2,6,6-TETRAMETHYL PIPERIDINE IS PREPARED BY REACTING PHORONE WITH AMMONIA AND HYDROGEN IN THE PRESENCE OF A HYDROGENATION CATALYST. The reaction is generally carried out at a temperature in the range of from 80.degree. to 200.degree. C and under a pressure of from 80 to 250 atmospheres.
