ABSTRACT:
An improved submersible pump valve assembly, actuated by the reciprocating movement of a sucker rod extended from surface equipment to a downhole traveling valve located in a tubing string, the valve assembly comprising a rotatable fluid port assembly supported in a barrel assembly which has a beveled seating surface with fluid ports therethrough. A reciprocatable actuator member having a screw rod portion coacts with a gear bore of the fluid port assembly to open the fluid ports thereof during the downstroke movement of the actuator member and to close the fluid ports during the upstroke movement. Also, the actuator member opens and closes the fluid ports of the barrel assembly alternately during its downstroke and upstroke positions, respectively. A middle rod connector, which connects the actuator to the sucker rod, has multiple fluid jetting ports which serve to agitate particulates in the reservoir liquids being pumped.
