ABSTRACT:
A decoding device used in a predictive coding method includes a replacement circuit for replacing a decoded value corresponding to an encoded code having an uncorrectable error with the decoded value of the immediately preceding sample, and decoding of the succeeding sample is performed according to the decoded value output from the replacement circuit.
