ABSTRACT:
A process for the preparation of isoindole derivatives which comprises heating a compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are as hereinafter set forth, in the presence of a suitable imidazole, is described.
