ABSTRACT:
A baitcasting reel comprising a reel body including right and left side frames disposed across a spool, a side case for covering an opening defined in one side face of one of the side frames, and a centrifugal brake mechanism including a brake shoe fixed to either one of the side frames and brake blocks mounted on a rotational drive line of the spool to act upon the brake shoe with rotation of the spool. The brake blocks are opposed to the brake shoe and movable between an operative position to contact the brake shoe and a rest position retracted from the brake shoe.
