ABSTRACT:
A novel process for reducing Mo(V) or Mo(VI) dialkyldithiophosphates to Mo(IV) dialkyldithiophosphates with H.sub.2 S is provided. Homologues higher than the ethyl compound are oil soluble and novel. Lubricant compositions containing same provide reduced wear and friction.
