ABSTRACT:
Disclosed is a dye forming coupler represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2, which may be the same or different, each represents a substituent group, and X is a hydrogen atom or a group which can be eliminated by a coupling reaction with the oxidized species of a primary aromatic amine derivative.
