ABSTRACT:
Compounds of the formula: ##STR1## wherein X is H or halogen or a NO.sub.2, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl or alkoxy group, are useful to treat cataract of the eye. The compounds are prepared by ring closure of the compound of formula: ##STR2##
