ABSTRACT:
Apparatus for abrading the anterior surface of the cornea, including a headrest to hold the patient's head stationary, means for fixing the eye whose cornea is to be surfaced, a grinding lap or disc for grinding the corneal surface, means for positioning the grinding disc over the eye and means for controlling the motion of the grinding disc for grinding the corneal surface to the desired extent and in the desired shape; a method for resurfacing the cornea is also disclosed, wherein the functions of the various means described above are herein realized.
