ABSTRACT:
A process for preparing stable aqueous solutions of a water-soluble urea-formaldehyde-glyoxal condensation product in which urea, glyoxal and formaldehyde are reacted under very slightly acidic conditions of pH and at a temperature of from 40.degree. to 90.degree. C., further reacted under more acidic conditions of pH and at a temperature of from 40.degree. to 90.degree. C., and then adjusted to very slightly acidic conditions of pH.
