ABSTRACT:
An emulsion polymer is disclosed by the present invention. In particular, the emulsion polymer comprises a protective colloid and a functionalized silane component which is of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R" is C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl, R' is C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl, R is SH, CH.sub.2 .dbd.CH--, CH.sub.2 .dbd.C(CH.sub.3)--C(O)O--, CH.sub.2 .dbd.CH--C(O)O--, and ##STR2## n is 1-10, and m is 2 or 3.
