ABSTRACT:
A device is provided for measuring the torsional acceleration of a rotating body, and particularly for measurement of oscillatory torques such as the starting torque of a synchronous motor. The device consists of two identical accelerometers mounted on a rotating body at equal radii 180.degree. apart, and oriented so as to be insensitive to the outwardly directed radial forces present during acceleration.
