Medical appliances for the treatment of blood vessels by ionizing radiation. A catheter 1 in which is centered a guide wire 2, a dilatation balloon 5 mounted coaxially on the catheter, and a radioactive radiation emitter in the form of a filament 4 integrated into the guide wire 2 inside the balloon 5.
