ABSTRACT:
Polyisoolefins are obtained using the process according to the invention by polymerising isoolefins, optionally with conjugated or unconjugated dienes and/or cationically polymerisable, mono- or polyunsaturated compounds at temperatures of -100.degree. C. to +100.degree. C. and pressures of 0.1 to 100 bar in solution, in suspension or in the gas phase in the presence of initiator systems consisting of certain hydrocarbons and open-chain and/or cyclic aluminoxane compounds.
