ABSTRACT:
A titanium base alloy for aeronautical use having good high temperature creep properties and being oxidation-resistant, the alloy being 5-6wt% aluminum, 21/2-41/2wt% tin, 2-4wt% zirconium, 0.75-1.25wt% niobium, 0.1-0.6wt% molybdenum, 0.2-0.4wt% silicon, balance titanium, apart from incidental impurities. The alloy may be beta heat treated and aged, optionally with an intermediate heat treatment before the aging.
