ABSTRACT:
Shaped bodies for use in drilling or cutting hard materials, such as rock, concrete and masonry, are formed of a matrix material with embedded abrasive particles. The matrix material is based on a copper alloy precipitated in the range of 200.degree. to 600.degree. C., for a selected period of time in accordance with the intended use of the shaped body. Accordingly, a shaped body is produced using a single matrix material and having the required characteristics for a specific use.
