ABSTRACT:
A light-sensitive material comprises a support and a light-sensitive layer containing silver halide, a reducing agent, a polymerizable compound and a base or base precursor. The silver halide, reducing agent and polymerizable compound are contained in microcapsules which are dispersed in the light-sensitive layer. The base or base precursor is arranged outside of the microcapsules. The light-sensitive layer further contains a polar compound having a melting point in the range of 30.degree. to 250.degree. C., which is arranged outside of the microcapsules. The polar compound may be arranged inside and outside of the microcapsules.
