ABSTRACT:
A color component ratio detection circuit generates, without use of a logarithmic compression circuit and a logarithmic expansion circuit, a voltage proportional to the ratio between the intensities of first and second color components of light to produce a current proportional to the intensity of the first color component flowing into a photoconductive element for detecting the intensity of the second color component, so that the voltage proportional to the ratio between the intensities of the first and second color components appears across the photoconductive element. A video camera may include the circuit for achievement of automatic white balance.
