ABSTRACT:
A method of protecting silver parts and inhibiting copper corrosion in an internal combustion engine and a silver-wear and copper-corrosion protection additive in a lubricating composition comprising a major proportion of an oil of lubricating viscosity and a minor amount of a silver-wear and copper-corrosion protection additive comprising the reaction product of an amine, formic acid, and a C.sub.5 to C.sub.60 carboxylic acid.
